Grupo Capoeira Brasil : Brucutu & Pantera Negra

The atmosphere is always friendly and lively, the instructors are always watching out for everyone's wellbeing during class and make sure you go at an appropriate pace. As an asthmatic student I still feel like I can participate wholeheartedly.

After a gym injury with my shoulder I was debating about starting capoeira for a long time ...and my athleticism had only come down in the meantime. Felt the push to come by class this evening for a free trial and had a blast! Instructor Brucutu is a great and friendly teacher. He was patient and pushed me on working through the basic moves and pointed out how to improve -- while also pushing and correcting the members who were much more advanced! I can get anxious about performance easily but he made me feel like I was rapidly growing. He has clearly worked to cultivate a great sense of fun and teamwork in his sessions, would recommend!

I have been training under Brucutu for 6 months now. I love coming to class and wish I could show up more than once a week. He breaks down the techniques so you can understand what each part of the body is doing. He pushes you to do better while not forcing you out of your comfort zone. He's always energetic, positive, and informative. I'm Thankful to have joined is class, I've been wanting to learn Capoeira for many years and now I'm doing it. Update: I have been training under Brucutu for over a year now, coming to class more regularly. I have learned so much more and the group has become a second family to me. I could be tired all day but once I come to class, all the energy from wakes me up. And if I ever miss class, it feels like an important piece of my day is missing. I highly recommend joining Brucutu's class as you learn so much more than a martial art, you learn the culture, the history, and develop irreplaceable bonds with your fellow Capoeirista.
